And as a true Canadian, I wear one piece snowsuits in July, prepared for Winter!
Man, where to start, I've been floating around Jalopnik ever since college ~5 years ago and have recently started posting on Oppo. I'm going to be 27 in a week and a half.
I. Love. Cars. Big cars, small cars, vintage cars, modern cars, wagons and Miatas. I do too much research on cars, you routinely find me scouring manufacturer sites, wikipedia and several car blogs. I'm not sure what I'm searching for, but my brain is a is stuffed with displacements, power figures, feature lists, fuel econ numbers. It's mind blogging and yet I know so little.
Now I feel like I'm on Top Gear and we're about to go over my car history (and Jeremy won't be enthused, don't worry, no Prii):
First Car: 1996 Nissan Altima - 2.4L Automatic - Beige on Beige (I hate beige as a result). Best seats I've ever sat in. It had AC that worked! It loved having fresh alternators. Oh, and the tires were black :)
Second Car: 2008 Chevy Cobalt (shared with my wife, now her DD) - 2.2L Automatic - Red on Black - Sounds pretty good with the K&N intake. Interior quality is quite bad, though she's still running strong. It's due to be replaced next year when my wife gets a CUV as her DD (probably a CX-5).
Current Car: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze - 1.4T Automatic - Red Metallic on Black - What do I have to say about my car? She's a good little machine. A good cruiser (yes, I just made that reference) on the highway back and forth to work. The turbo noises from the K&N intake is smile inducing. Stock, the car lacked some powar and the automatic shifted like confused molasses (which is bad). This was remedied with a Trifecta Budget Tune, turning the boost up to 19psi about a year ago (said to increase hp & torq by 20 each, on 87 Octane) and what a difference that made!
The Future? Who knows what that holds. I'd love to say I know what the next car I want to buy is, but that changes on a weekly basis.
Why no manual cars? Well my dad try to teach me when I first started driving (in a 95 Cavalier), it was way too much info for me at once and I hadn't touched one until about 2 years, when I drove a 98 Corolla (after much manual research of course) and... I loved it! I didn't even stall her! I'm a little leery to commit to manual as my next car, but I think I'll like it a lot, I just need to take the plunge.
